Mill Run/ Sluice gates Co. Leitrim
Stage/Completed
The sluice gate and walls/ mill race helps to create local identity and local distinctiveness. It also provides tangible evidence of local history and forgotten skills. Retaining such features matters because their history tells us of past practices, technology, innovation and achievements. While the sluice is not listed on the record of protected structures it forms and important part of understanding the nearby Corn Mill which is a protected structure.

Outbuildings, Co. Leitrim.
Stage-Completed
Repair of Outbuildings/ prevent further deterioration, GLAS Scheme Grant
On the Historic 6inch Map 1837-1842 there is a small building shown. The buildings are old farm buildings and provide a direct link to the farming methods of years gone by. The first building shown on the 1837-1842 map is also on the later 1888-1913 and it should be conserved. The craftsman made the most of the materials they had at the time. The building was
possibly used to hold dances for local people. It is further noted that the site was the setting for the short story ‘Faith, Hope and Charity' by John McGahern where a dance was held to raise funds for a local man who died in England.

Granary building, Co. Leitrim
GLAS Conservation report/ Heritage Council
Completed
This Granary building is an old farm building and provides a direct link to the farming methods of years gone by and our previous generations of farmers. The materials and craftsmanship used to make this building should be conserved. The craftsman made the most of the materials they had to hand at the time. The fact this building is still standing indicates just how good these craftsmen were. The ground floor was used for housing cattle and a horse. The loft area was used at night / weekends to hold dances for local people. This Granary building was used mainly for storage of grain and hay and a place for people to gather and meet. It was a social outlet for many local people
